Devri Kate - One Week Old

Introducing Devri Kate Duncan

We are so excited to have our little Devri home with us! Devri made her grand entrance Monday, May 2 at 7:47 pm. My water broke in the shower that morning (how convenient!) so I called Colby who was already at school to tell him the news. He didn't believe me at first since it was 4 days before my due date and we were not expecting her to come early. However, he came home and we made our way to the hospital and 9 hours later had a baby. Everything went very smooth during labor and delivery, and I felt enough to know that I am very thankful for epidurals! The baby was originally posterior, but the doctor got her to turn as she was born. We all had guesses for how much she would weigh. The doctor and Colb guessed 7 pounds 4 ounces, the nurse guessed 7 pounds 1 ounce, and I guessed 7 pounds 8 ounces. She came in at a whopping 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long (which was a big baby for her momma). She has been such a good, sweet-natured baby. She cries very little and gives us lots of cute facial expressions. She looks a lot like her daddy, but is starting to look more like her momma as she changes each day. We are so thankful for her sweet spirit in our home and adore her! I think she already has daddy (and momma) wrapped around her finger!

It has also been so fun to have Grandma Darc (my mom) here with us. As soon as she got news that little Dev was coming early, she changed her flight and jumped on an airplane and arrived about 1 am the night Devri was born. We have had lots of fun playing dress up and catching up since we've been so far away. We are also super excited to take a trip to Utah so we can see the rest of our family and introduce them to our Devri. We love you Dev!

Belly Bump Update!

We hit the 36-week mark last Friday and we are so excited for this little girl to get here! Nicole has been experiencing some contractions as of late so we know that it is really getting close! Here is a slew of updated pictures of Nicole's belly.

Calf Pulling With Dad

While home over spring break I was able to help my dad do surgery on a baby foal who had broken its maxillary sinus. It had pieces of the bone stuck inside and it was quite the challenge! Well, for my dad anyway. All I did was hold the foal and try to keep it from running away!

Then we spent one evening delivering a baby calf. I also did not do much here besides hand my dad the chains, gloves, etc. It was fun though, and a really good experience! But for some reason I could not talk Nicole into coming with me...

Roosevelt Baby Shower

Nicole and I went to Utah for spring break and we had a great time. While we were there, my sisters, Katie & Brynlie, organized a great baby shower for Nicole. There were a lot of family and friends there and it was awesome! Everyone was so generous and amazing!

Spring Break!

Finally! After a couple of busy blocks of school and busy season, we have a spring break to help us regain our sanity! We arrived in Salt Lake and went to dinner with Nicole's family at Red Iguana, which was very tasty! The next day we got up early for Brian and Heather's wedding. It was a great day, the ceremony was amazing, pictures were fun, and the dinner afterwards was fantastic! We even saw Donny Osmond at the temple as he was attending another sealing ceremony.

On Wednesday we received another treat. Nicole's little brother, Mitch, received his mission call to the Donets'k, Ukraine mission. We are very excited for him!

On Friday we finished off the week with the reception which was awesome. Here are a few pics since they will do it a lot more justice than I could describe!
